Brouwersgracht

Brouwersgracht
Brouwerschannel
This part of the Brouwersgracht is an extension of this channel that was constructed in the year 1613 as a result of the city's expansion in this period. It's clear to see the difference of constructing between the channels that were build during the city's expansion in the sixteenth and seventeenth century. The new parts of the channels are wider. On a mural decoration on the bridge, crossing the Prinsengracht the number 1754, stating the year, is clearly readable. During the period 1750 and 1780 most bridges of this kind were constructed and belong now to the cities antiquities.
